The language proficiency level of our groups is determined according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR) system.

A1* A2* B1 B2 C1 C2
Basic user, beginner

Basic user, elementary

Threshold level
(intermediate exam proficiency)

Medium level (upper intermediate exam proficiency)

Advanced level (effective operational proficiency)

Master level

(mastery, proficiency)

*In case of starting studies at A1 and A2 levels students are not required to take a preliminary proficiency test. Further information on beginning level instruction is available at the client service office or via telephone.  

Length of preliminary proficiency assessment test (depending on level and language): 20-40 minutes

In order to gain a full and accurate appraisal of your language proficiency we ask you not to use any support material or device during the completion of the test!
